FLU VACCINATIONS 2019

Flu season is upon us once again! Invitations are being sent now to patients who qualify for a free vaccination this year according to NHS guidelines.

Initial invitations are being sent by letter, or email to those patients who have given us prior consent (please remember to check your junk/spam folder).

Our clinics will be held predominantly on Saturdays throughout September & October; with a limited number of alternative appointments available on weekdays for those patients who cannot attend on a Saturday .

Call 01794 885275, weekdays, between 10 am & 4 pm Tuesday 17th September until Monday 23rd September to book your appointment, or if you feel you qualify for a free vaccination but have not received an invite.

IMPROVED ACCESS TO PRIMARY CARE

This practice will be ensuring everyone has easier and more convenient access to GP services, including appointments at evenings and weekends. We will be working with a variety of health care providers in several locations, all registered with CQC to provide GP services. The GP practice where the patient is seen will take responsibility for the regulated activity delivered there, regardless of where the patient is registered.

Evening appointments Monday to Friday, are available at Salisbury Medical Practice and Saturday appointments are available at Three  Chequers Medical Practice, Three Swans site for blood tests,  HCA and Nurse appointments.

Nurse Practitioners

Our Nurse Practitioners are Registered General Nurses who have undertaken specialist training to diagnose, prescribe and advise on management for a wide range of medical conditions. 

Nurse Louise Otter

Louise joined the surgery in September 2015 and is our Lead Nurse.

She is highly specialised in Diabetes care.  Louise looks forward to meeting all the diabetic patients and helping them to manage their condition.

Nurses

Our Practice Nurses are Registered General Nurses who have undertaken specialist training to gain the skills required to deliver a high quality Primary Care service such as ear irrigation, wound management, vaccinations and immunisations, smears and leg ulcer treatments.

Mrs Anne Wesley
Qualifications:-
  • Registered Nurse - Part 2- Enrolled (ENG) - 1987
  • District Enrolled Nurse (DEN) - 1990
  • Registered Nurse - Part 1 (RGN) - 1993
  • General Practice Nursing (GPN) - 2013

Anne joined the practice in 2013 after a 25 year career nursing in the community, where she gained many transferable skills.  She completed a Foundation in Practice Nursing course at Bournemouth University in the same year, which increased her knowledge and skills relating to working in primary care.

Anne provides all treatment room nursing, but has a special interest in wound care; including leg ulcer management.

Ms Linda Johnston (f)

Linda joined us in June 2018.

She is a Respiratory specialist and will be working with all our Asthma and COPD patients in particular.

Healthcare Assistants

Ysanne is our Health Care Assistant who has gained an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. She has also undertaken specialist training such as Smoke Stop Management, Health Promotion and Blood Taking.

Kim Sawley-Smith (f)

Kim joined us inSeptember 2017 and is qualified in all areas of the Health Care Assistant role.

Phlebotomists

June is a qualified Phlebotomist and is very experienced in taking blood from patients with more challenging veins. June has appointments available on Tuesday and Friday mornings which can be booked online when requested by your Doctor or Nurse.

Mrs June Watts

June joined the practice as a phlebotomist in 2008 following her retirement from the hospital Pathology Department as a Biomedical Scientist in haematology, blood transfusion and histopathology.
